20-yr-old killed by deep vein thrombosis aka Death by Xbox

Chris Staniforth, outside of a job center waiting for an interview began to spasm upon picking up a pack of chewing gum which he dropped. Moments after, he was dead.

According to the corner and the parents of Staniforth, the 20-year-old’s death was caused by pulmonary embolism as a result of deep vein thrombosis. Proximate cause of death, playing too much on the Xbox 360.

“Kids all over the country are playing these games for long periods,” his dad told The Sun. “they don’t realise it could kill them.” While credibility is always questioned when coming from The Sun, this wouldn’t be the first case ever reported and has become more common than ever in addicted gamers.

The father does not blame video games, consoles or the developers for his son’s death and has decided to launch a campaign to raise awareness about the risks of deep vein thrombosis with gaming on long hours.

The Sun reached out to Microsoft for comments and recommended periodic breaks from gaming “to exercise as well as make time for other pursuits.”
