5 Nintendo Wii Accessories Put to the Test

Besides the extra controllers we buy for the Nintendo Wii sometimes we want to buy some extra accessories to help our gaming experience with the Wii. However, with all the hundreds of accessories for the Nintendo Wii, sometimes is just hard to choose what accessories to buy. Hell, most of us don’t even know if the accessories we are buying are useful or not.
Here are my reviews for 5 Nintendo Wii accessories which I tested over the week.
1. Louisville Slugger Baseball Bat

Gosh. This one really depends on who is using the bat. If you have a grown adult using this then it would look silly and stupid at the same time. However, when you have a child playing with this then this foam bat make so much sense.
First of all the bat is just too short for me to actually pretend that I’m using a bat at all. The length is about two Wii-motes stack together and the grip is a plastic feel. Other than that it’s definitely made perfect for a child to use. I’m sure if you buy it for a child they will have a blast from it.

2. Everlast Boxing Gloves

This one I was a little excited to try out since the whole Pac vs. Cotto fight is coming up this week. With all the hype with boxing these days, you want to pretend that your a real boxer in the comfort of your private home (ahem can’t let people see my Sunday punch).
It was sort of hard to get the Wii-mote into the slots and it was also hard to put it on as well. After the initial setup I was ready and for the first few minutes I felt like a boxer, jabbing, throwing straights, and dancing around my living room. I would buy these just to have it around and put them on once in awhile to pretend to be a boxer. This will be a great motivator for anybody that are very into boxing genre.
3. Everlast 2lb Dumbbells

The Wii is my home gym from now on is what I would like to say if I ever wanted to work out. Everlast came up with these 2lb Dumbbells which was a good idea with all the buzz surronding the Wii Fit and all. However, I feel that the Dumbbells only coming in just 2lb is kind of lacking in the work out department.
If they came in adjustable weight where the user can adjust more lbs into the damn thing then we are talking, but 2lbs is all you get and toning your body is the way to go. Well for a guy that is out of shape this is already enough to make you sweat and pant.
4. Everlast 3″ Aerobic Step

Another work out accessory from Everlast and this one is to raise the Nintendo Wii Fit Balance Board for a better work out on those Fit games. This definitely gave the aerobic session games a more challenging feel to it.
One big mistake was that I also left it on for the Yoga part, which is a no-no for someone like me that has no balance at all. I would definitely pick this one up and the dumbbells if I use the Wii to work out with.
5. Prince Tennis Racquet

The racket is pretty small since Prince probably can’t supply you with a full size racket fearing that you would destroy everything that is near you when you play (or could they).
The controller snaps in pretty secure into the racket, just make sure it is in securely you definitely do not want to be like the guy on HSN (see video below). The swings are much better than just swinging with the wiimote, but the serves are the same with or without the racket. It will be nice to get two of these and just try your best not to hit your friends with it.
In my very own opinion for the five accessories I tested I would recommend the Dumbbells and the Aerobic Step “IF” and only if you are actively using Wii Fit or any other exercise game on the Wii. The rest of the accessories like the bat, boxing gloves and racket are really just presents for friends and families or just buy the bat and gloves for your kids who play the Wii (let those suckers beat on each other with the foam).
