Activision’s CEO: I’d Raise Game Prices Even More

Activision raised a lot of dilemma last month when they’ve decided to sell their hot upcoming sequel Modern Warfare 2 at the price of £54.99 in the UK, but that might not be the last of it.

In Activision Blizzard’s investor relations conference call, an analyst asked about their ‘comfort level’ regarding some of their more expensive games in which the company’s CEO of publishing, Mike Griffith states, “We’ve had for all of our launch titles in the back half of this year, some of which contain peripherals, as you point out, very strong retailer acceptance and support for all parts of our plan, including our merchandising plans, our marketing programs, and our price points.”

Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision had a little more to add in laughter, “And Tony, you know if it was left to me, I would raise the prices even further.”

Whether he’s serious or just kidding is still questionable but this isn’t the type of humor I’m looking for.
