All Witcher 2 DLCs will be free, more details and trailer included

The Witcher 2 fans are in for another treat, according to a Q&A on GameStop’s Facebook page, CD Projekt RED has revealed they will not be charging anything for downloadable content.

A community manager for CD Projekt RED writes, “Let us announce that all our DLCs will be FREE.” The first DLC will be available during launch, called “Troll Trouble.” The game will include a built-in updater where players can register their copy and grabbing patches and DLCs from the click of a button.

Another feature mentioned, importing saved data from the prequel will also grant some money and items in the game, including the famous Raven Armor. Other bonuses are included but not revealed. The playtime is also estimated at a minimum of 40 hours for a linear playthrough, while completing side quests and other events can double or even triple the length of the game.

In an interview with Eurogamer.cz, Tomasz Gop, the senior producer has mentioned that if they ever launch any paid content, it would be a full blown expansion.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is due for release this Tuesday, May 17 on the PC. Don’t forget to check out the new trailer above that will give you a little insight on the storyline
