Another Wii Fit Miracle, Woman Loses 112lbs.

February 1, 2010 by Ruibo

A 38-year-old British woman has made another astonishing weight loss miracle due to her strict exercise curriculum (Wii Fit) and healthy dieting.

Lara Roberts, a mother of 2 who was unable to cut down her weight from giving birth to her second child, has now gone from 252 to 140 pounds in a year. Lara Roberts gave the most credit to the Wii Fit for allowing her to work out at home, where she has complete privacy and removes the self-conscious feeling from working out in public.

Losing 112lbs. in a year is definitely no easy task. It takes a lot of motivation and hard work. Her greatest motivating factors are her daughters, whom she loved dearly and hopes to see them grow up. Lara Roberts had to get up 5 a.m. every morning to start her workout on the Wii Fit. Of course, with the Wii Fit work out she also had to fix her eating habit and go on a strict diet to help her lose the weight. The result as you can see from the before and after picture is just amazing.

Before -Around 252 Pounds.

After - Smoking 140 Pounds

Nintendo can definitely have her as a spokes person for Wii Fit and she can totally motivate people to do this too (I mean even I am ready to go out and buy a Wii Fit).

  1. I think it would be good for people whom have a bad diet, and do little to no exercise.
If they change these two things to wii fit + change in diet, more often than not they'll see nice results.
    Sometimes that's all it takes.

I can guarantee that 95% of her weight loss was due to the diet. Wii Fit is a scam.

Have you ever tried it? I must say that it does provide a decent work out. While it may not compare to a more traditional exercise program, it does provide an option to those who may not otherwise make the effort.

Is there a weight limit on the wii fit? I'd personally worry about people 250+ lb using it – cant this ruin the sensors? Maybe Nintendo could benefit from making a weight-loss bundle – complete with diet plan suggestions and training curriculum. People lose weight -> people happy, Nintendo sell stuff -> Nintendo happy. Win-win.

With a proper diet using the wii fit every day will give you a much better workout than doing nothing at all, which is what she would've been doing before. If you have a good diet any type of excercise is going to take the weight off, you just have to find something you're comfortable with.

I have been using Wii fit for 40 days. I have been trying to lose 10 lbs for two years and it didn't budge bit even with diet. my desire to eat junk is less and I feel much better. Am 66 years old and in pretty good shape but the belly is out of control. I have lost 7 lbs since I started and am super motivated by the fun games, yoga, and strength exercise. I hate going to the gym. This works for me.

  15. I don't believe the Wii Fit itself can do anything — maybe EA Active can, but Wii Fit was useless to me…

It's exercise right…diet change or not it's just like others have said – better than just sitting their with their fat ass on the couch in front of the tv….now that can rather jiggle it in front of the tv and hopefully be a little more fit than before!
