Atlus Spreads the Love: Persona PSP Coming with Soundtrack

Atlus has been giving goodies with its Shin Megami Tensei series (and its spin-offs) for quite some time. They’re continuing the trend with the PSP remake of the original Persona, including the two-disc soundtrack with the game composed by Shoji Meguro.
The soundtrack isn’t going to push anyone to buy it — fans of the Shin Megami Tensei series would buy it with or without the musical addition. But since Atlus released Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, the Digital Devil Saga games, and Persona 3 and 4 with (at least partial) soundtracks, it’s almost a requirement for them to do so with Persona PSP. It’s impossible to keep up a trend like that for so long and suddenly drop it without upsetting the fans.
The great thing about this is any copy of the game is going to come with both discs — the full soundtrack. Persona 4 came with only one half of the soundtrack unless it was preordered, which was unsettling to anyone unfortunate enough to not preorder the game since buying the full soundtrack now costs anywhere from $35 to $100 depending on where they look.
The remake will retain the Americanized characters, but there will be a new translation, new animations, and an additional quest that was not included in the original North American release for the PSX. Persona will be available on September 22, so fans will have to buckle down for a few more months.
