Automatic Demos Coming to Nintendo 3DS & Wii U

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has propose to release demos of new games for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.

The demos will be available for gamers automatically and will let them try it out so they can be aware of the products for the systems:

“When Nintendo would like to ask users to try a specific new game, we should deliver it to their Nintendo 3DS, and possibly Wii U, with their prior consent and recommend that they just try it and, if they like it, they can pay for it,” Iwata explains, “In this way, we need to introduce users to unknown products.”

“Consumers are likely to be convinced to pay about 5,000 yen for a well-established franchise product, but not all the people are willing to pay a certain amount of money for an innovative but unknown product. Now is the time to prepare for these situations.”

There will be a hate it or love it relationship with this plan. This will all depend if Nintendo will be releasing demos for games that the majority gamers don’t really care about and if Nintendo will automatically download the game to your system even if you do not want it.

Hopefully, Iwata will give out more details on this move by Nintendo.
