Actually Zack I have to say that the graphics are far superior in SC2 and D3 from what I've seen when compared to WoW. WoW will be kept fairly low key if you like because they have a far greater player base.

As for D3 graphics well I've seen a few clips now and I think it looks awesome - sure there are some areas that look too colourful (and wow-like) but there are other areas that give me the feeling I got when playing the original Diablo and Diablo II. I really do think that the environments are going to be nicely mixed.

I'm really sad about the no LAN in SC2...but we will get a way to play it and it seems as if Blizzard might actually provide us with the opportunity (perhaps I'm just being too optimistic - but Blizz will please a lot of people if they just meet us LAN mad gamers happy).

Anyway - they're in it for the money and it's clear by their schedule. I see their current priorities as follows:
1. Keep WoW player base happy (aka hooked) - release updated dungeon/raids (see Onyxia). Bring Ice Crown to the WoW'ers. This should give them around 4 - 6 months of guaranteed WoW'er content. After that they'll start feeding even more info on Cataclysm and possibly even a release in the first half of next year.
2. Release SC2 (part 1 of 3) in 2010 (most likely within the first three months). Expect a beta sometime this year still...together with battle.net migrations throughout most territories.

So 2010 will most likely see Cataclysm (and they have no choice but to release SC2...otherwise people are really going to start losing interest). I also expect more news on SC2 (part 2 of 3) sometime next year (probably towards the end of the year...maybe Blizzcon). Diablo III might make it into Beta (also expect an additional class announcement or two next year and maybe even one more this year still). They'll want to get the timing just right between their games to make sure that they can capitalise on each of them so I doubt a release of any of their titles/expansions within 3 - 6 months of each other. Just my predictions of course but based on their delays and timed announcements it seems to fit (no doubt we'll eventually get an expansion for Diablo III too...but by then I'll probably be ready to retire lol).

Blizzard will probably charge if you want to play online.

It's just a matter of time. Their still in the World of Warcraft mindset. The whole pay to play thing. It's their most rewarding product (financially) and it they plan to make more games similar to it. Ever noticed that the graphics of Diablo III and StarCraft II is somewhat similar to the one in WoW?

If Blizzard doesn't change the No LAN setup, then they can count me out as a customer. Me, and few hundred thousand others.

I can't believe that they are actually removing or shall i rather say not including LAN in SC2. LAN is what made the original SC popular in the first place.

Im 31 yrs old and me and my brothers still lan the original SC when ever we get a chance.....Blizzard will be loosing a big portion of their fan base if they leave LAN out.

This is from wikipedia "StarCraft was released internationally on 31 March 1998 and became the best-selling PC game for that year, selling over 1.5 million copies worldwide.[73] In the next decade, StarCraft sold over 9.5 million copies across the globe, with 4.5 million of these being sold in South Korea.[74] Since the initial release of StarCraft, Blizzard Entertainment reported that its Battle.net online multiplayer service grew by 800 percent.[75] StarCraft remains one of the most popular online games in the world.[76][77]"

So they want to cut back on piracy...did piracy of the original SC not help to make it one of the most popular games in the world? Im not saying that piracy is right but i am sure that i helped to distrute and advertise the game to thousands of gamers that eventually bought the game. i mean 9.5 million copies sold world wide....

I heard that you now will need to buy 2 add-ons to be able to play the 3 races in 3 diffirent campaigns. I will not be surprised if Blizzard is going to charge if you want to play online...

This whole setup stinks...greed is behind this. The new SC2 game looks awsome but i will have to see i will buy it. Without LAN whats the point.

The sad truth is that you're probably right. Plus with the accounts both combined now into one (and later with their future games) they'll easily be able to find out which of their subscribers are into the other game types too!

Eventually they'll be able to figure out what your playing habits are (a little WoW in the morning, SC2 single player during week nights initially, SC2 LAN play over weekends, dabbling in their new MMO inbetween, taking toilet breaks every 27.5 minutes and buying pizza online. Beware Microsoft you say? Naaa...rather beware Blizzard I say!

Still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth though...

Time to invest in other more worthy developers and their games.

You really can't blame Blizzard and their current attitude. The wants and desires of the gamer are secondary to anything that will ensure in their minds the maximization of revenue of their latest offerings.

They are probably counting more on current wow players getting SC2 than WC3/SC players. They know who spends more on games ;).

Because I took the first one myself and submitted it to Reddit. You can check it under my username, Faust06. The second pic is a responder in the subsequent thread. I did cancel my account. So did he, and I hope many others in an attempt to get LAN back into SCII.

I don't play things like WoW because I for one am not a fan of internet gaming but if I had a WoW account I would absolutely cancel it it now... but I suppose that doesn't mean much since I don't have one in the first place because I HATE having to connect to the internet to play my games!! PLEASE ADD LAN TO SC2 BLIZZ!

Blizzard is nothing more than EA now; when you think of money hungry whore for a gaming company you can picture Blizzard right with EA. They make tons of cash off of wow and frankly one or two people isn't going to make them improve the game what the fuck do they care they have millions of idiots. Same goes for Starcraft and Diablo why should they make the game fun for the players when they have millions of idiots willing to buy it hell put a shiny vanity pet into the equation for people that also play WoW and you sold 7 million copies (at least according to their numbers).
