Bethesda Softworks and US Senate hacked by LuLzSec

The hacking group, LulzSec has released some details of the hacks of its recent hacking operations and Bethesda Softworks along with the US Senate website has been compromised.

The attack on Bethesda has compromised over 200,000 user accounts for their popular game, Brink. All the source code and database passwords have been stolen. The server data has been made public but the user information hasn’t been revealed.

According to the statement from LulzSec in regards to the intrusion into Bethesda:

Please find enclosed everything we took, excluding one thing – 200,000+ Brink users. We actually like this company and would like for them to speed up the production of Skyrim, so we’ll give them one less thing to worry about. You’re welcome! 😀

What a way to get more info on an upcoming game wouldn’t you say?

As for the hack into the US Senate website, Senate.gov, the site’s root directory has been revealed. While it may not compromise any type of national security, it is an embarrassment to the government to protect itself.

As for the reason pertaining to the hack:

We don’t like the US government very much. Their boats are weak, their lulz are low, and their sites aren’t very secure. In an attempt to help them fix their issues, we’ve decided to donate additional lulz in the form of owning them some more!
