Blizzard will Water Down Diablo III for Some Countries

For the past few months Blizzard been showing off some screenshots and videos of Diablo III, which for the most part features a lot of gore. This can only mean one thing for the game and that is region edit.
In a recent interview, Wired sat down with Jay Wilson who is the lead designer for Diablo III and in the interview, Wilson was asked if the game’s content will be edited for regions like Germany, Australia, and even China.
“Definitely for regions like Germany and Australia, we will have to change blood if we’re going to sell there. And that’s fine. Those are the standards for those regions, and we don’t really have a problem with catering to what they need and what they want.” He also says “But China’s going to be hard for us. Because a lot of the restrictions there are really… we may not be able to do them.”
It just sucks for those places to have a water down version of Diablo III, even though they are paying the same or even more money for their product. However, big ups to Blizzard to take the time to actually bring the game to those countries and follow their crazy standards such as changing the color of blood to blue (which is freakier IMO).

I’ll believe it when it’s on the shelves…. (Who is going to buy a nerfed version of D3?).
..Yes I am Australian *sighs* and my government can’t seem to get an R rating for games even though they have for movies (and most gamers now are in their 20-30’s) – check the polls.
