All you Brit Nintendo fans, here’s something different for you. Japanese gaming giant Nintendo has gone ahead and bought themselves their very own British Gaming Show on Channel Five. This might come as a surprise for many of you. The show is called, “Britain’s Best Brain” one of the popular UK prime time quiz show.

Head of programming at MEC Chantal Rutherford Browne said:

This television concept is a fantastic opportunity for Nintendo to bring their games heritage to life. I had been on the lookout for Nintendo for some months and already had preliminary negotiations with Five when the idea of Britain’s Best Brain came along via Tiger Aspect.

Unfortunately because of British regulations, Nintendo won’t be allowed to advertise directly on the show but they will be its prime sponsors. As reported by MCVUK, the deal will be used to promote DS titles in eight one-hour programs that will air starting in October. Nintendo will also receive exclusive sponsorship credits, but will still have difficulty plugging their games and consoles as commercial product placement is illegal for UK television shows.
