Capcom Announces Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 & Will Be Disc Based Only

Capcom officially announced Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 yesterday and now confirmed that the upgraded version will only be disc based.

Capcom has done it again, claiming the new updated version will be too big to fit into a DLC and thus only available on disc.

Producer Ryota Niitsuma explains why:

“Right now, we’re only thinking about releasing a disc version.”

“Given the development schedule, there wasn’t enough time to work out all of the details to release it as downloadable content, as well. Also, for the reason you mentioned, there is so much data in the game it was easier to go this route.”

You be the judge whether this new update will be worth purchasing a brand new game.

Ultimate Marvel vs. capcom 3 will feature 12 new fighters, 6 new fighters on each side.

Capcom:

Firebrand
Strider Hiryu
Phoenix Wright
Vergil
Nemesis
Frank West

Marvel:

Hawkeye
Ghost Rider
Dr. Strange
Iron Fist
Rocket Racoon
Nova

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will also balance and enhance the online play and features spectator mode that will let you check out other people’s fight.

The game will be released in November for Xbox 360 and PS3.
