According to Venturebeat.com Warner Bros and Double Helix are working together in a video game around the official Green Lantern movie scheduled for a June 17, 2011 release. This movie is going to be directed by Martin Campbellwith Greg Berlanti and Michael Green as screenwriters.

The comic book hero Green lantern would eventually make its jump to the video game world for both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

Double Helix studios is a division of Foundation 9 entertainment wich is currently working on the version forĀ  Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PlayStation 2, and PSP of G.I.Joe: The Raise of Cobra for Electronic Arts. The rumor says as well that they are working already for Warner Bros on the Green Lantern game.

The movie is planned so… when a superhero movie comes out to the screen, a superhero game hits either computer or console field. Much to our dismay, most of those games are pure crap wich only fans will buy. We hope that Double Helix wich are working for Square Enix on a third person shooter called Front Mission Evolved, will do a great job and the first game of Green Lantern becomes a success because of its gaming features.

Warner Bros made no comment about Venturebeat’s report.
