Fallout: New Vegas looks too much like Fallout 3

In opinion of many gamers Fallout series is one of the best role-playing RPGs ever because it offers completely different experience than other role-playing games. The best thing about Fallout series is that it does not feature standard medieval fantasy storyline; instead, Fallout series takes us to the distant post apocalyptic future in which humankind is fighting for its bare survival. Storyline is new and refreshing and if you are tired from fighting with skeletons, demons and wizards, Fallout is the right thing for you.
As you know, Fallout series started a while ago as isometric RPG. Back in the 90 is that kind of RPGs were hits but nowadays people expect something different. After Bethesda became the developer of the Fallout series it has decided to put some freshness into the series. Fallout series has moved to 3D environment and Fallout 3 was revolutionary game that has given new life to the series. Fallout 3 was loved both by fans and by the critics and now we are looking forward to next game from the Fallout series called Fallout New Vegas. As you already know, developers of the first two games are working with Bethesda on this one, and we are positive that we will see a great game.
One problem remains with Fallout: New Vegas though and that problem is graphics. Maybe it is just me but the graphics looks the same like in Fallout 3. Sure, we have completely new storyline and location but graphics looks like it was copied from Fallout 3 into New Vegas. I understand that the two games are using the same engine, and this is the main reason why are we going to see another Fallout game so soon, but why does the game play looks the same? Everything seems familiar and already seen before with Fallout: New Vegas so it does not look like a new game, it feels more like an expansion pack. I will not call Fallout: New Vegas an official successor of Fallout 3 because it simply does not have enough fresh content and improvements to be called a successor. Fallout: New Vegas will be a great game that will have some improvements but in my opinion, it’s just improved version of Fallout 3, and maybe it should be called Fallout 3: New Vegas. Despite this, we are still looking forward to the new Fallout game with anticipation.

i completely agree with this article. i was never impressed by fallout 3's graphics, but the game was fun and i didnt care. This time though, I would expect the engine would have been vastly improved. the third person still looks terrible, the AI walks and talks like robots, and even though the location is different, it looks like a lot of the games wasteland is almost identical to that of fallout 3's. i was excited for this one at first, but with all the games coming out soon that actually look innovative im going to have to pass
Hey Mike,
You need to work on english before you take a stab at criticizing a game in this shit you call an article. Before you post your work re-read what you wrote and perhaps you'll realize how bad you really are.
Lol
your realy biching about speling? this is a great non-baised articlce. u sir, are a hater. stop hateing. oooops, i thunk i maded some speling erorrs. u may want to start biching up a storm!!!
lololololololol
And you're a retard. You almost misspelled every word in that sad excuse for a comment.
This article is bitching about graphics, clearly the author doesn't know shit about good games. Graphics != good game you horses ass, it takes a good storyline, simple yet addictive gameplay, incentives to put time into the game, and replay-ability. Fallout contains all of that, obviously if you were a sack of crap and all you were interested in was super HD graphical upgrades for the game you weren't going to get it.
Really just go eat a dick, stop complaining about the game. I guarantee I'll see a review on here when it comes out praising it just because every other site will be.
Just cheap flamebait to get some easy hits, this site is fucking pathetic.
OOohhh you know how to spell whoopty do. You knew exactly what the guy was saying did you not? you read it all the way till the end did you not? Or were you just being that ignorant and telling your self "Hey this guy has bad grammar so I’m going to stop reading" what did you expect when you opened this? a full team of editors, proof readers, maybe even a publicist in there to. And the guy makes a valid point, when i saw fallout Vegas i didn’t care at all for it because it just looked the same that’s all he’s saying.
What are you like 16? should'nt be playing these games anyways, gives you poor behavior like you just expressed.
i think you should stop trolling you homo. mike's article is mint
I do agree that the graphics are kinda poopy XD I wish these games can be built from the ground up for each console instead of porting them like Crysis 2 or Uncharted. It would make them look so much better :0 Either way, I know that the story and missions and hours of fun will make up for it. I cant wait for this game to ship
Why does it matter? The core gameplay in most sequels is usually the same, its no different with New Vegas. Its still using the same game engine but there is a lot of things they are adding that wasn't in Fallout 3. Its coming from devs who worked on the original Fallout games too.
were firgetting that this started of as what was to be a 30hour expansion pack for fallout 3, then grew bigger and bigger into now what there saying a 130hour(to do everything) game, explains why it looks the same as fallout 3, not that thats a bad thing as fallout 3 is one of the best games around
They aren't calling it "Fallout 4," they are calling it FO:NV. So of course it uses the same engine, just as the GTA games for PS2 all basically used the same engine. Also, Fallout 1 & 2 used the same engine, with only minor tweaks, so this is nothing new for the series.
For my part, I'm excited about it. I don't play RPGs for the graphics anyway.
Gameplay and Storyline over Graphics. End of Story
Graphics arent important, but storyline and gameplay is. Story is a big one for me, and in order to do that the characters need emotion instead of being lifeless pricks whos faces look like they've been dipped in liquid nitrogen and missed the lips. As long as the character animations and more emotion is shoved up their asses, then I will be a happy tree friend.
If you don't like the graphics, stop playing on an inferior system like the shitbox. If you think NV looks too much like F:3, then you need to get your head checked, because the idea of a sequel isn't just to keep the ideas rolling from the original, it's to keep the aesthetics and familiarity while offering something new. And how the fuck do you know what's in the game and what isn't? If there's nothing new or just a rehash of old mechanics? You obviously haven't played it, so shut the hell up until you do!!!
Yep I totally agree, Vegas will be the red headed step child of fallout 3..
The only fault I find with this article is its not really analyzing the game. The graphics in this game are WORSE than fallout 3. It's got a new engine, the same one used in Alpha Protocol (horrible graphics). Because it's made by the same company that made alpha protocol. The graphics are a step down from the first one. This will be all too apparent when they show more close ups of peoples faces. The clothing doesn't fit on people's faces, and the facial hair looks really unnatural. Maybe I should write an article about it… lol.
Fallout 3 looked/played like crap. This one looks the same. Its 2010 we should'nt have to settle with *the story was the game man..not the graphics* need both to get a fifty outta my pocket.
Theres far better games out there.
i loveed fallout 3 but wont get new vegas full game price for an extended addon is not for me like a lot of others said in here so many new great games comming out why settle for this shit
