Gackt has made is career out of singing, looking like Japan’s David Bowie (androgynous), and creeping up onto commercials for just about every product in the country. Now he’s moving back to video game promotion — hurrah?

Gackt will be creating the ending theme for Koei’s upcoming Sengoku Musou 3 (Samurai Warriors 3), as well as appearing in commercials for the game.

If you’re really not sure who Gackt is but played or read about Final Fantasy VIII around its release, then you know that Squall was designed after the Japanese mega-star. He also had his own mediocre game, Bujingai — so he’s not all that new to the gaming industry.

It would be cool if the theme song he produces for the game could be included in an overseas release, but that’ll only happen if they include the Japanese voice track. Got about a 30% chance on that one.
