Buckle up the armour, rev your chainsaw and prepare to rend some vile Locust meat! For the most eagerly anticipated video game adaptation ever is inbound, and by all accounts it’s going to be amazing.

The films screenwriter Chris Morgan was interviewed recently regarding the status and production of the film.
“A draft went in and we’re talking about it now and we’re budgeting it out,” Morgan said. “It’s looking incredibly good.”
The movie is currently under New Line production with Len Wisemen of Underworld fame (and married to Kate Beckinsale) pencilled in to direct it. If Morgan’s vision of the film is carried through millions of the franchises fans around the globe are in for a real treat.
He said, “I think the gamer side is going to be thrilled with it. All the stuff you want to see, we put that in there and then we blow it out a little more, even. Now it’s just a matter of honing in on all of the character arcs and determining production types of things.”
For those unaccustomed to the game ”Gears of War“ focuses on an elite team of rough and ready soldiers. Think the original Predator movie in Space with attitude. Players of the game take the role of ex con Marcus Fenix and his hardened friend Dominic Santiago and fight through vicious level after level against an evil race of aliens known as the Locust Horde.
When asked about the scope and direction of the project Morgan replied “It’s huge. One of the things they’re really talking about now is the budget of the film and how big of a spectacle this is going to be. My argument is, look at the underlying material. Look at the game and the scenario — the fact that the world is being taken over by the Locust, it has to be huge.”
