When it comes to MMOs, fantasy has pretty much been the go-to genre. It goes without saying that the big player in the MMO world is Blizzard’s World of Warcraft. Pretty much every hot new MMO on the scene is referred to at some point in its development cycle as a “WoW Killer,” although as of yet none have been able to dethrone the king. A new third person MMO action game called Global Agenda probably isn’t looking to infringe on WoW’s playerbase, but it is taking the term WoW killer to a whole different level. Developer Hi-Rez Studios recently released a video poking a bit of fun at the fantasy genre, and it looks like World of Warcraft in particular.

It shows one of the classes in Global Agenda, the Recon, going to head to head with what appears to be a Blood Elf mage from World of Warcraft. Of course, it’s not much of a fight really, as the unsuspecting mage gets soundly sniped. The video isn’t the funniest thing you’ll see but it certainly gets Global Agenda’s theme across – brutal futuristic gunplay… and no elves!
