Goro from Mortal Kombat Original Sculpture

Goro was the bane of many players when he was the guardian before the last boss in the original Mortal Kombat. From this view, though… aw, him’s just a little guy. One the originators of the MK series, Ed Boon, posted this image on his twitter.

This is the actual sculpture model used to create Goro back in the original game. Strange that this little picture has been sitting around since 1992 or even longer – apparently it was sitting in their archives – but it’s cool to see nonetheless.

It’s also pretty funny to see just what those guys were working with when they created the game. Who knew that developing a fighting game required so much masking tape and… cookie tins?
