Tell Tale Games programmer going under the name of Yare stated in their site that an iPhone is more powerful than Wii. He made this comments regarding some complaints of users with the version of Tales of Monkey Island for Wii, he said:

“The voices and textures are the way they are because we’re limited to 40 megs for WiiWare titles. The PC versions of our games are usually 150+ megs, and most modern games range anywhere from 1-10 gigabytes or more. Talk to Nintendo about this one.
Frame rate issues will probably get sorted out eventually, but keep in mind that the Wii is just not a powerful console. An iPhone is much more powerful than a Wii, even.”

We know Wii is not the most powerful console out there but telling an iPhone is stronger than Wii are strong words, but instead of retracting his words, he wrote another post saying “And I stand by them [his previous words]. The Wii and DS are extremely underpowered and their popularity doesn’t remove the hardware limitations.”

I don’t know if the issues of Tales of Monkey Island is a hardware problem or the problem is that programmers didn’t polish the game all that they should to fit to Nintendo’s console, but what I am sure is that customers should always get a good product so that they have paid for it.
