A reliable source has informed TVGB that the video games producer Activision is in the process of licensing music from the Vietnam War era including music of a Soviet, African and Cuban origin.

This rumour gives strong hints regarding the setting and location of the game. The source has also stated that Call of Duty: World at War’s lead producer Noah Heller is involved which suggests Californian video games developer Treyarch will once again work on the project.

Noah Heller added credibility to this news himself with the following statement last year “are showing the final battles of the Pacific and the European Theatre and that lets us put a close to the war.

I’m sure game companies will be making World War II games for years to come and World War II is a very classic war. But we’re happy that we put the war to bed.”

The music genre associated with this rumor is intriguing to say the least. With talk of Soviet and Cuban music it’s conceivable that this could very well expand to Call of Duty: The Cold War instead of Vietnam alone.

As usual Activision has continued their standard policies by failing to comment on what is currently just speculation.
