Those eagerly awaiting King of Fighters XII might have to wait a little longer to see SNK’s beautiful overhaul. The Japanese release date has been officially changed from July 16 to a “July release.”

A press release from SNK assures that the delay is to “improve” the title, which seems a little strange. It has been in Japanese arcades since April, after all. But they probably need to iron out some kinks before they let the console release go live. Can’t let one of the most anticipated fighting games of the year be released imperfect, right?

The good news is, nothing has been said yet about the overseas release, which might mean that it won’t be affected at all. Or that they just haven’t gotten to it yet, who knows?
