Hi all RPG folks. If you have played any of those intriguing games in the Suikoden series, this should be an interesting piece of news for you. Konami, the creator of the series has filed a Trademark for “Genso Suikoden” in the US on 22 June 2009.

After the successful Suikoden V, Konami had last filed a Trademark for Suikoden Tierkreis in North America in Aug 2008, for use with “video game software”, and that certainly turned out to be an awesome role-playing experience on the Nintendo DS. Of course, as you probably know Yoshitaka Murayama, who was responsible for the series till Suikoden III’s development, left Konami mid-way, and the direction for Suikoden III and IV was completed by Matsukawa, and subsequently Suikoden V was directed by Takahiro Sakiyama, a relative newcomer to RPGs.

With the frequent change of guard in these Japanese games, we really can’t guess what’s in store with the Genso Suikoden trademark being filed. Maybe it’s Suikoden VI? Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
