Lost Planet Movie is Lost Planet in Name Only

When making video game-based moves, you would think that film makers would learn to stick with the original content matter. That won’t ever happen, but the Lost Planet movie actually looks to have some promise.
Jun Takeuchi spoke with G4, revealing that the upcoming Lost Planet movie won’t be based on either the first or second game’s storyline. He does claim that the people working on the project “love the word of Lost Planet,” so that has to account for something.
What makes the movie not quite a lost cause is Keiji Inafune, creator of Mega Man and just one of the minds behind the Lost Planet games, is taking an active role in the creation of the movie.
But you want to know the coolest part? David Hayter, otherwise known as Solid Snake, is working on the screenplay.
This all seems awesome in premise, but is most likely going to fall short along the way. Remember how closely the team working on the Silent Hill movie were working with Akira Yamaoka and parts of Team Silent? And look how that turned out.
