Mafia 2 Looks Promising

Grand Theft Auto seems to have become the epitome of games that have the main character completing crime missions, having shoot outs, driving cars recklessly around the city, and running from cops all the time for numerous reasons. Many games have tried and not quite made the cut. But it’s important to remember one of the classics of this style: Mafia. And Mafia 2 is going to make us remember.
Mafia 2 sticks to the old time gangster life and has developed a world set in the 1940’s. The graphics are modern enough to make everything look completely real, the music in the cars is old time radio, the city is full of proper era buildings, and gangsters all speak with the right Italian attitude. And despite all the upgrades, the game still has the feel of the original Mafia.
GTA has always had a slightly more cartoonish way of looking at the world, but Mafia literally puts the player into the life of the mob. The story has more substance, the missions have more action, and the game is looking like it might just take back the genre. The 2010 release is definitely something to get excited about.
