Those who have an Xbox 360 and need a trading card game fix are finally getting some attention. Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers will be hitting the XBL Arcade this Wednesday for a measly 800 points.

Actually buying Magic cards can burn a hole in your wallet the size of a fist, so spending 800 points (equivalent to $10) for a real online Magic trading card game should send fans into a frenzy.

The downside to this version of the game is that deck customization is difficult, as Planeswalkers only gives you premade decks that you can’t completely customize. Some cards absolutely must stay in each deck. However; the game does feature online play — and you don’t have to dish out real money for cards like in the original Magic: the Gathering PC game.

Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers probably won’t bring in new fans or satiate hardcore deck-builders, but any logical fan would dish out that $10 for one of the better video game translations of the card game.

Actually, the “original” Magic the Gathering computer game operated on the same principle, and had a really neat campaign feature for gathering new cards. Magic Online is the pay for play version, but it has its perks (like OL to RL card conversion, and invitation tournaments for RL events
