Man Holds Woman Hostage With Sega Light Gun

Don’t ever mess with the power of a Sega Light Phaser, you don’t know what it’s capable of. A man looking to collect a debt broke into the house of a 60 year old woman in Brazil’s Federal District, holding hostage for 10 hours.
The man released the woman unharmed after negotiating with the police (while waving around a pair of knives). Was it that difficult for the police to realize that the gun wasn’t plugged into the console?
