Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Release Actually in Late July

Capcom’s Twitter account posted up yesterday that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will not be set out into the wild on June 29 like everyone expected, but rather it will be released “closer to the end of July.”

The tweet also claims that they are not sure where the rumor of the release date came from. Though it clearly came from the Marvel 1st quarter financial report(pdf) along with the release dates of other Marvel Universe-based games.

The digital release is coming out on the XBLA and PSN, and the news of a push back (or rumor control) is a big disappointment, but Capcom knows what they’re doing. It’s probably for the best.
