Microsoft buys Skype and bringing it to Xbox Live

Microsoft has dipped their fingers into another large company, Skype, our favorite “internet phone” chatting tool and is looking to bring it to one our favorite gaming platforms, “Xbox Live.”

“Skype will support Microsoft devices like Xbox and Kinect, Windows Phone and a wide array of Windows devices, and Microsoft will connect Skype users with Lync, Outlook, Xbox Live and other communities,” boasts the company. “Microsoft will continue to invest in and support Skype clients on non-Microsoft platforms.”

More details on the $8.5 billion acquisition can be found at the official press release.
