We’re a month shy of the release of this highly anticipated game, everyone. Yes, set aside some of your precious funds and don’t miss out on this release. If you have the funds now, consider getting a pre-order to ensure your copy today. If you have the cash to burn right now, why don’t you consider getting the pricier pre-orders which have truly enticing goodies that come with it? If you haven’t heard about it yet, read more about them here.
Whatever be the case, if you’re a hardcore MK fan, then MK9 is an installment in the series that you should not miss. Mortal Kombat 9 is due April 19, 2011 for North America and April 21, 2011 for Europe. Pre-order from Amazon and get free shipping and $10 off on your next video game purchase or from GameStop
and get the classic Scorpion skin, fatality and the Mortal Kombat widget. I would personally go with Amazon and get $10 on my next purchase.
So what’s there to expect from this new game? To sum it up in one word: plenty. And I mean it.
MK9 is both a move forward and a move backward for the series. It even hints at a possible change of events as we know it so far, as a whole. Pretty ambitious sounding if you ask me. So far, it’s been revealed that the story will be centering around how Rayden makes the most of how things are already through his younger self and when Mortal Kombat was still, well, Mortal Kombat. Now, combat and game mechanics-wise, the same holds true. They’re going back to their 2d origins and will be incorporating similar gameplay we had in the older days (just shows how old I am, hahaha) while utilizing the advancement and limits that the PS3 can offer. If you’ve seen the gameplay videos and related materials, you’d be blown away by how much they’ve improved and stretched their capacity for both beauty and violence in one go for this game. Truly impressive.
Curious as to how this will turn out? Same here.
Now, get this: us PSN users are given a chance to be able to get your hands on a playable demo of MK9 for free.
Yup, free. Sweet isn’t it?
For PS Plus users, you should be able to autodownload this since March 8, 2011. For the non PS Plus users, expect to get it by March 15, 2011: one week after the subscribers get it.
What’s to be expected from this playable demo?
We get to try out the gameplay albeit through the eyes of four of the 24 confirmed playable characters namely: Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage and Mileena. Yes, we’ll be able to even do their fatalities and x-ray attacks. The stages available for play are ‘The Pit’ and ‘The Living Forest’.
So if you’re a PS Plus subscriber, get your demo of MK9 already and tell us all of how things are so far. Would love to hear from you guys on the matter.
The XBox360 playable demo will follow shortly. Just a matter of time, guys. Don’t worry, they haven’t forgotten about you yet. So who’s just as excited as I am for this game?
