Boasting over 10 million subscribers, Netflix is a pioneer in the DVD rental industry. In February 2009, a press release was issued by Netflix stating that over one million Xbox Live subscribers had activated Netflix on their consoles. But while Xbox owners are hanging out watching Netflix movies, PS3 and Wii owners are stuck just.. playing video games. However, this may be changing.

Netflix recently posted a job listing on their website seeking a Director of Engineering—Gaming Platforms. In the job posting, Netflix is looking for someone who has “…years of experience both building and leading the development of games on the current generation gaming consoles. You are familiar with several of those consoles…” Netflix also asks the candidate to have “experience with digital media on embedded platforms; ideally on one or more gaming consoles.” See that? Consoles. Plural.

If you fit the job description, apply for the job, and please bring Netflix to the PS3 and Wii. The rest of us need something to do.
