The newest Dragon Quest IX video is up, and it shows off some of the game’s new multiplayer mode, clearing up some questions about how a turn-based RPG can be wirelessly multiplayer in the first place.

The video shows hosting a game, and then friends joining the game in standard DS wi-fi fashion (along with macro dialogue) then gets to the action.

When all members of the party are near each other they start a battle off together, which is obvious. But if some (or one) members get into a battle while the others are running around, they can call them into battle to make sure they don’t get stomped all over. Really, it’s the only thing you could expect out of wi-fi multiplayer, so it’s no surprise, but it’s good to see it in action.
