SCEE president Jim Ryan announced a new model of the PSP that will be launching in Europe at Sony’s Gamescom conference.

The new model is tagged as the E-1000 model and will feature a new finish that resembles the PlayStation 3 slim console. It will not have any WiFi support on the handheld and the only way to connect to the PlayStation Store is to use Sony’s Media Go software for Windows.

The lack of Wifi support brings the price of the new PSP down to €99 and will be launching end of this year in Europe.

No word yet when this model will be launching in other regions.
