New “FpsBrain” energy drink claims to increase gaming performance
I’m no doctor… but even without having years of fancy schamncy med degree, we can definitely assure you that the consumption of pills or liquids of any kind will likely not make you any better at playing video games (Only sitting on your behind and playing 8 to 9 hours a day can do that!) — even when those pills are the new and improved gamer-oriented FPSbrain zoom “visual performance” enhancing time release capsules.
These pills are set apart from the rest of FPS Brain’s other offerings, which usually contains enough caffeine and guarana to allow most toddlers to climb up the walls for hours on end. Instead of filling you up with raw energy, Zoom supposedly allows you to actually see better during your 10 hour eye hurting Halo 3 marathons, giving you the most needed ocular edge that… bah, forget it. Taking good care of your eyes is really important, but ordering these shady pills from European countries (Which are most noted for their opium and or ecstasy factories) probably isn’t the best way to go about doing it.
So what exactly is this stuff? Here is the description from FpsBrain:
“FpsBrain XB200 Liquid is an energy-shot specifically designed to meet the professional gamer’s needs. It is three times stronger than generic energy drinks or coffee.
FpsBrain XB200 Liquid is based on a special digest made from guarana. This digest has the same stimulating effect as coffee, but unlike the caffeine contained in coffee, it is not released into the body immediately, but over the course of four to six hours. This evades the unwanted caffeine flash and thoroughly sustains the player’s performance during training or in a competition.
Directions for use: Because of its high dose of guarana, the recommended daily intake is half a vial. Before drinking, the energy concentrate should be diluted in a beverage of choice, but can be consumed undiluted as well. FpsBrain XB200 Liquid is a dietary supplement.
Overview of all ingredients/nutrition facts (daily intake):Energy 59 kJ/ 14 kcal, Protein < 0,1 g, Carbonhydrates 3,1 g, Fat < 0,1 g, Guarana extract 1000 mg (davon 100 mg Koffein), Magnesium 50 mg, Vitamin B1 0,7 mg, Pantothen acid 3,0 mg, Vitamin B6 1,0 mg, Vitamin C 30 mg.”
