New Gameplay Trailers for New Super Mario Bros. Wii
October 16, 2009 by srfto
There was already scans in Japan with details on the upcoming New Super Mario Bros. Wii game and now even gameplay trailers are surfacing. The scans from VGchartz did confirm that the Koopa kids from Super Mario Bros 3 will return and also a few new power up for Mario and Luigi, but as always I would prefer to see it in action.
Now all of a sudden Nintendo released two new gameplay trailers for the New Super Mario Wii game for the Nintendo Wii (hoorray). The video shows off Mario using the new suits with the new abilities that comes with the suit and also the new Ice Flower power up is shown and Luigi (and Yoshi! and Toad! Oh My!) as well.
Just looking at the trailer I can already tell that it will be another fantastic Mario game, which will not disappoint anyone that are fans of the series. I included the scans as well as the videos below.
Check out the video after the jump.

it does look very much like the old snes versions and therefore not taking advantage of improved power. Though maybe this is a good thing as those games were great – sonic is also returning to 2d i hear!
Finally they’re giving some love to their core fan base that they alienated when they went on their Mini-game frenzy. I love how this looks. The thing about wii is that it’s not about the graphics or the power when it comes to a retro game like this. It’s a throw back to the Super Mario of our youth and frankly I’d Play this (From the looks alone) Before I’d even touch Galaxy. This game would be enough to make me want to buy a Wii. A polished twist on a classic? Sold.
I’ve been waiting for a game to hit the Wii that lets me push people into lava under the guise of a cooperative environment.
“Bryan, you just pushed me in the lava!”
“I thought I saw a coin at the bottom. I was helping.”
Looks like a step towards Super Mario World to me, this game is going to be sooooo awesome!!!!! I’d like to see some classic SMW enemies in this game as well!!

This will make me buy a Wii, NO questions asked. Cant wait for MW2, But will love to see a 2d game come back in a polished form. Im with the guy who wouldn’t go near a controller to play galaxy. Props to Nintendo.
