Rockstar Vancouver’s upcoming title ‘ Max Payne 3′ was featured on the recent issue of Gameinformer. Since not all of us suscribe to the magazine, here are some of the new clear hi-def screenshots Rockstar released.
12 years after the events of Max Payne 2, Max finds himself in Sao Paolo, Brazil – where security work is plentiful but the risks are high. When murder and betrayal dog his every step, Max is once again thrust into the heart of a brutal city with nothing but his weapons and his instincts in a desperate search for truth and a way out.
Beware! You can actually smell the sweat and blood from Max’s wife beater tank.

I have no idea how a team can take a game that has one of the MOST identifiable & successful style and theme and take a look and go “you know.. all this film-noir, action in the city stuff that the fans really like? yeah… lets throw that all the window. this game has too much personality and character. we need to make it like every other jungle shootem up. yeah, that’s it.”

avoid this game at all costs, and boycott Rockstar if you can.

Oh? So you know what the story line will be? Do you know how the story ends? Please, do share!
For everyone else who can’t tell the future, have you ever been dissapointed, I mean truly dissapointed by any of Rockstars storylines?
yeah, I was let down by GTA San Andreas and GTA 4.
and from what I understand from previous articles, Max is in south america, 12 years after MP2, where he’s taken up employment in the private security sector, working for a wealthy local family in São Paulo, Brazil. He’s apparently chasing Mona Sax, as he’s double-crossed in this new city and he is searching for “the truth and a way out”, according to Rockstar.
And on top of that? they also state “Unlike the previous two games, Max Payne 3 takes place outdoors in bright daylight, whereas the past titles took place largely indoors and at night.”
no film noir? no hard boiled cops? no NYC? no corrupt politicians? no dark & stormy city night settings? give me a fucking break! this is like remaking Dark City but setting it in Morocco. in the day.
unless the jungle is ditched early in the game to get back to new york to kick some ass, this game is going to be absolutely atrocious.
(also, do your homework before getting aggressive. it makes you look like a tool when you don’t.)

And P.S. Just cause you think a game sucked doesn’t mean it did IN FACT suck. We could argue all day about what games you like or dislike.

How is this Max Pain at all? It’s like calling a packet of crips a 3 michelin star restaurant. It’s not that I wouldn’t eaet a packet of crisps, but I woulnd’t get dressed up for it. Who are these marketing people? GIVE ME YOUR JOB AND I’LL DO IT PROPERLY.
Wish the character was the same or something more interesting than a “GTA” look-a-like. I hope the game is more fantasy filled and interesting than it looks right now.

This is a joke. For all those defending it look at the facts. This is the first in the series not developed by Remedy and also the first not to have a story and script written by Sam Lake. I’d also like to point out that, in the original, Max Payne was modeled after Same Lake. Here is his photo: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2f/Sam_Lake.jpg. You tell me, does the guy in these screen shots look ANYTHING like the photo I just posted?
It may have the same name and publisher but if it isn’t created by Sam Lake and Remedy then it’s not Max Payne. This is like me writing another Harry Potter book and calling it legit just because the Publisher give me permission.

Well this is a big disappointment. Don’t think I will be playing this one sadly enough.
