New Peripheral for Tony Hawk Games

Tony Hawk has made himself a strong franchise in the video game industry. His games have always sold really well despite there already being nine games out. With such an incredible fan base, why not make a new one?
Peripherals, or game accessories, that allow players to feel like they are actually performing the actions they are doing in a game have become the new video game must-have. The Wii has utilized this with it’s Wiimotes and other types of controllers, and even the Xbox 360 and PS3 have tapped into this phenomenon. Tony Hawk has now adapted a game fit for the arcade that can be played in the home.
Tony Hawk: Ride is the latest edition in the series and will be released on Xbox 360, PS3, and the Wii. What makes this different from the previous games is the peripheral required for the game: a skateboard. This new skateboard has tilt sensors and motion sensors so that a player must actually imitate a jump or trick in order to do it in the game. Because of the way that the game has been designed, the skateboard will be needed to play.
It’s an exciting new way to play that has not previously been available for home consoles. It will make player more active and add a new aspect of fun to the Tony Hawk game play. All in all, I’d say Tony Hawk has done it again. The game and skateboard can be found in stores sometime this fall.
