Nintendo been busy keeping the lead in the peripheral technology by patenting all these crazy format for a controller. This time around Siliconera reported the Vice President of Research and Development at Nintendo of America, Howard Cheng, patented a football controller for the Nintendo Wii.

The football controller will be sort of like the Nerf football and will have a slot for the Wii-mote to be placed in. When the gamer throws the ball it will caculate the angle and the trajectory arc when thrown and for running it will detect body motion from the gamer themselves.

Nintendo must hate T.V.s to actually go this far, as to throw the controller at the T.V., besides that it is a very cool idea.
