Nintendo Plans on Video Service for the Wii and DS

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has plans for the company to start on video download services for the Wii and DS, so far Microsoft and Sony has already jump on the video service band wagon, but Iwata plans to do “something different.”
In a interview on Wall Street Journal, Iwata told WSJ how the company is setting up the Wii to use as a download hub, with the video content downloaded it will then be made portable for the DS handheld.
“If the Wii and the DS are connected, it should be possible to download video through the Wii and take it with you on the DS,” said Iwata. “When the service begins, you’ll see how we’re going to do it differently in a Nintendo-like way. There are a lot of on-demand video services, so there’s no reason to do the same thing, so we’re going to do something different.”
Iwata did not get into any specific details such as content solution, pricing, or when will this service be available to the public. However, he did suggest that Nintendo will use this service in Japan first as a trial option, then if things go swell in Japan it will be considered for North America and Europe release.
On the other hand, Sony and Microsoft seem to be committed in their video and content services to their users.
