Halo: Reach isn’t too far off and may be setting new records for the Halo franchise with news of Master Chief returning.

At the San Diego Comic-Con, Frank O’Connor, franchise development director for 343 Industries, said “At the end of Halo 3, and cover your ears if you haven’t played it, Master Chief is in cryosleep. Cortana has sent a rescue signal, and they are orbiting a strange world. We’d have to be the world’s biggest assholes to not follow through on his story.”

Although he did not state whether Master Chief will be appearing in Halo: Reach or not, it is definitely getting everyone hyped. If he isn’t in Halo: Reach, then I’m certainly hoping for a Halo 4.

The latest title in the franchise, Halo Reach, is due to release worldwide on September 14th, exclusively for Xbox 360.
