If you’re worried about Final Fantasy XIII suffering because of the recently announced Xbox 360 port, Square Enix has some good news for you.

The development for the 360 version only began in April, soon after the Japanese Playstation 3 demo. That fact alone made many 360 owners interested in the game worry about the quality of the port, mainly because of the DVD space limitations.

Producer of Final Fantasy XIII, Yoshinori Kitase, assures that the team is working to “create an equal experience on both the 360 and the PS3.” They are doing that by finishing the PS3 version of the game, then moving on to the Xbox 360 version to ensure they know how to fit the game onto the DVDs.

They’re not sure yet how many DVDs XIII will need but Kitase is confident they won’t have to compromise anything for either version. This is great news for fans of the series, but no one will really know until release time if the claims are true.
