PS2 Software on the Edge of Irrelevancy?
July 1, 2009 by srfto

Michael Pachter just loves to make predictions. He is, after all, a gaming industry analyst. But one of his most recent predictions — that the Playstation 2 is nearing its end of days entirely — is a little depressing for those who have yet to move on to this generation.
Pachter has stated that he expects the PS2’s software sales to make up less than 4 percent of total software sales in 2009. It’s not a huge surprise since the PS2 is at the end of its days and the current generation has been in full-swing for quite some time. But it is a little sad to see one of the biggest consoles in history finally be laid to rest.
