It was recently spotted by Joe/Mordecai at Consumerist that QVC was ‘way’ overpricing Nintendo Wii and accessories on one of their programs. QVC most likely already sold thousands of these overpriced products to unsuspecting customers that watches their show.

Joe actually compared the price of QVC to regular retail outlet and found that the mark up from QVC on these items are insane!

Looking at the prices (on tv):

$349.00 + $13.97 S&H = $362.97

for the following items:

Nintendo Wii console retail (with Wii Sports)
Go Play Circus Star Games
Handgun Accessory
Golf Accessory
Tennis Accessory
Baseball Accessory
Steering Wheel

but seeing what these items are retail:

Nintendo Wii console: $199.00 MSRP
Go Play Circus Star Games: $14.99 (new at GameStop)
Wii sports pack (has all accessoies sans handgun accessory): $19.99 (new at GameStop)
Handgun Accessory: $5.99 (new at Sears)

All of these is $239.97 plus tax.

I wonder where they are getting this $140+ amount from. :|

Is QVC trying to cash in for the Christmas rush? All through out the show they were saying that the wii was going to be “rare”. They were also saying that the Wii had true HD output which is totally untrue (unless 480p is considered HD). It just seemed unreal to me. Oh, and they sold about 2800+ of these.

It is sad to actually let someone sell a system that they don’t know nothing about. HD? Rare? Jeez might as well say you can even play PS3 and Xbox 360 games on the Wii. I hope those 2800+ customers see this and get their refund back because basically they just forked over $140 for a comedy show.

Check out the horrible deal from QVC here.

I was one of the millions recently ripped off after purchasing the Nintendo Wii gaming system w/access. case and games. Paid $360.00 including shipping and tax and still overpaid at least $140.00. In addition the free Jeep game that was suppose to be included was not included and the 1 in 101 game that was included would not allow access to all games until you play the games they want you to play, (have to play certain games to unlock other games, no access to 100 games as advertised.) The game system is only $199.00 at the most expensive game store like Game Stop, not to mention $199.99 at Walmart and other stores. The accessories packet included, i.e. tennis racket, bat, golf club etc. cell for only $19.99 for all accessories excluding the gun. PLAN TO SEND ALL THIS MESS BACK. DON’T CARE HOW MUCH SHIPPING IS, SURE IT WILL BE UNDER THE $140.00 I OVERPAID. WILL NEVER SHOP AT QVC AGAIN.
