Rape Games Will Be Banned From Japan

TBS news just reported that ‘rape’ theme games will be banned in Japan too. This was due to the controversy of RapeLay and the aftermath of it. The sales and production of these games will be stopped, which to say this kind of game genre makes up 10-20% of the entire gaming industry in Japan.

The changes will take place on June 2nd, which will force 200+ companies to take a different route in their game genre line-up. Well, I’m not a person that condones these kind of games, but to hurt the economy even more in your country is not a very smart move.

We will follow closely on how this will play out.
