(Rumor) ‘Handheld’ Microsoft Xbox 360 and Xbox on the way?

Sounds exciting, right? A portable gaming device from Microsoft should definitely make heads turn. It is rumored, Shane Kim, Corporate VP – Strategy and Business at Microsoft recently confirmed to Kikizo that Microsoft is still very interested in the idea. He has apparently stated during an interview earlier in the week,

“We’re building a service in Live that will… will extend to other platforms … no question about it”

While Kim brushed aside the idea of a portable Xbox, stating they wouldn’t be putting resources on Project Natal, he did not exactly deny that Microsoft is serious about their Live Anywhere initiative.

So my reading is, yes Microsoft is serious about a portable Xbox-like device, but how soon it will materialize is anybody’s guess.
