Those who were excited to get the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 for the feature of playing on a dedicated server without any hassle should get some tissues ready. Infinity Ward just announced that there will be no dedicated servers for Modern Warfare 2, instead Modern Warfare 2 will be running on match making service only- which will be running on Infinity Ward’s own private servers.

This was confirmed by Infinity Ward’s Rober Bowling (AKA. fourzerotwo) on BashandSlash.com. which he said there will be private server to support players who want to set up their own custom match, but there will not be any dedicated server for the game. Infinity Ward explained that this will be a better experience for the average PC gamer when they are playing the MW2 online and will be the new the direction for IW future PC games also.

The game will run on the studio’s own InfinityWard.net system and will be merged with Steam and Steam’s VAC support system (anti-cheat). Also, Bowling stated that he does not know yet whether there will be a mod support for the PC version or even the possibility of the mods being hosted on the IW network.

Cough..Cough..Oh yeah there is a Petition on the way already. Plus check out another ‘Hitler’ adaptation video.

For some good news for PC gamer is that the game will not be delayed and will be released on November 10th. (yippee..awww)
