Sengoku Basara 3: Japanese Release Hits the Markets!

It’s time to party once again as CAPCOM releases the long awaited sequel (at least as far I’m concerned) to the popular hack and slash game, Sengoku Basara 3. Teasers have already been released both on their website and recent event shows. Heck, there are even people cosplaying characters from the game already despite the lack of sufficient material already. The Japanese release has already been released and out on the markets while the US release will be available by October this year. The US Release will be renamed as Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes.

Judging from the tags and news here on the site, this game has not been tackled head on or reported so despite that it’s been released, I would like to share with you guys, what’s in store and to be expected from this game.

Hopefully more will know of this game and look into playing it and join me in the mayhem that is Sengoku Basara.

Contrary to previous reports, it has been confirmed that Sengoku Basara 3 will be released for both Nintendo Wii and PS3 (Thank goodness! And I thought I was going to have to buy a Wii if I also wanted to play this.) Also, the international release will be a faithful translation of the original than a reimagined take of the game with liberal changes on character names, gameplay and plot (I’m looking at you Devil Kings). Perhaps owing to the poor performance of Devil Kings, not a lot of non-Japanese fans knew or came to appreciate the game as much. For those who did come to join the ranks of the fandom, choices were you had to import the game, go through the Japanese language and waddle through. The fandom outside of Japan, is small but a dedicated following. The game also has an anime adaptation which I presume have added more to the pre-existing fanbase.
