Sims 3 Sells 1.4 Million in A Week Despite Rampant Piracy
June 9, 2009 by srfto

It doesn’t seem like like 200,000+ copies of the Sims 3 torrent downloaded hindered sales much. Electronic Arts announced that the game has sold over 1.4 million copies in a mere seven days.
The huge amount of sales followed the trend of the other Sims games, which have been extremely popular since the release of the original game in 2000. But the Sims 3 might prove to be an even bigger success than its predecessors, as Electronic Arts claims it is the fastest selling PC game they have ever published.
Taking over the Sims 2 as the best-selling PC game of all time will be difficult, as the game and its expansions have sold over 100 million copies since release.
The Sims 3 offers several new personality traits to give sims, as well as a new neighborhood dynamic that connects households seamlessly.
I wonder if those gamers who downloaded the Sims 3 torrent went to buy the game.

I did buy it and am now wishing I did not the game shuts off at random times just goes to the desktop and blue screens some even when I am saving so I will have to save multiple times just for fear of having to start over witch I have had to do twice and wasted countless hours. My pc can run the game I have all the specs and more so it is the game itself since no other game I have does this. it has been almost 2 weeks and I have not heard of any patches coming out. This is a shitty thing to do to your customers EA.
