Everyone has their favorite characters, and it’s always a bummer when your favorite doesn’t make it to the next iteration of a fighting game series. No doubt fans of the groovy slam-dancing Dee Jay and hulking Native American Thunder Hawk were feeling a bit let down when it was revealed that they were cut from Street Fighter IV. However, there may be some hope for these two fighters yet.

Capcom recently released a tool for the PC that allows users to determine how well Street Fighter IV would run on their machines. Some intrepid gamers, unsurprisingly, started hacking apart the files and dug up some announcer audio that directly referenced both Dee Jay and T. Hawk.

There is a distinct possibility that this is just leftover audio from the development process, as the two characters were under consideration at one point. But there is also a possibility that the PC release of the game will include these two characters, or that they’ll be released as some sort of downloadable content. It does seem like a bit of a stretch… but we can always hope that the option exists for Capcom to add new fighters this way.
