Starcraft 2 Battle Report 3 Shows off Toss vs. Zerg
June 19, 2009 by srfto

Everything seems to familiar but different with Starcraft 2 so far, with the races still playing their roles from the original (Zerg: fast, weak; Terran: middle, middle; Protoss: slow, strong) but with different units.
The map featured in the battle report is a brand new map called Scrap Yard. The map shows off three new features of the game: Xel’naga towers, which when taken control of allow a player to see over a long distance; smoke screens which units can hide behind unless enemy units enter the screen; and high-yield minerals, which will be a key factor in long-term battles.
There are so many new unit abilities featured in the video that it really needs to be seen in action. If you can sit through 17 minutes of gameplay, check out the full version of the battle report here. But if that’s a little too long for you, below is the first eight minutes of the battle that gives a glimpse of some of the usage of the new features mentioned above.
