Stolen Copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops Might Be Leaked

t has been reported that a couple of copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops has been stolen from the printing company. The alleged thief is said to have sold several copies of the game and one of the purchasers was a known underground hacker who uses the handle ‘Ungodly Leaker’. The hacker ‘Ungodly Leaker’ is known to had leaked a previous version of Halo: Reach before it even released and now it seems he might do the same with Black Ops.

To prove to everyone that he does indeed have the game in hands, he posted a picture of the disc with his name written on a piece of paper.

This is definitely a big problem financially for Treyarch and Activision if the game does leak out. Treyarch’s community manager, Josh Olin, had been attempting to find out the culprit on a hacking forum, but had been banned by the moderators from the site. He did however get a few contacts from it to see if they have any clues whether they can point him to the culprit.

He contacted a member from the hacking forum through twitter that goes by the handle 97SIRHB. They talked for several hours on phone and AIM before 97SIRHB posted on the forum that Josh Olin from Treyarch is searching for the potential leaker and threatened that if the game was ever leaked that he would make sure the site would be shut down forever.

No sign yet whether the game will be leaked, so we just have to sit back and see if the game will be released and the actions that Treyarch and Activision will make to protect their game from becoming leaked again.
